IRAP

The Office of Institutional Research, Assessment & Planning (IRAP) at Phillips Graduate University supports many kinds of internal and external data collection, data management, and reporting functions.  We also support strategic planning and assessment initiatives for units throughout the organization as part of our ongoing demonstrations of institutional effectiveness.
As a service unit to the larger organization, we provide decision support to the academic and student services departments so they may continue to improve toward an optimal environment (given our resources) in which students may achieve their educational  and occupational preparation goals and objectives.
 

IRAP Mission Statement

Phillips Graduate University’s Office of Institutional Research, Assessment & Planning (IRAP) will serve as an expert resource for the organization and its constituent departments with timely, courteous and professional support for strategic planning, research design, data collection, analysis and reportage to both internal and external decision makers.  We will practice responsible and sustainable citizenship as members of our academic community, acting always in concert with the university's mission to achieve its strategic goals.

IRAP Ethics Statement

Phillips Graduate University’s Office of Institutional Research, Assessment & Planning endorses and observes the statement of professional ethics of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR).  IRAP will practice a level of care and compliance that may serve as an exemplar of ethical research policy and practices.
 

Realizing the PGU Mission

Unit missions should build on the overall mission of the larger organization and develop its mandates in their local context.

The need for effective, timely and accurate data services for the institutional decision makers has generated the development of the current structure, processes, systems, policies and personnel of the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment & Planning. The Office of Institutional Research, Assessment & Planning at Phillips Graduate University aspires to deliver consistent excellence of performance in support of the larger mission and vision of the organization.

We deliver information services to stakeholders within and without the university so they may make effective, data-informed decisions in support of providing the open, engaged and individualized higher education experience for which Phillips Graduate University is known.

The Office of Institutional Research, Assessment & Planning supports many kinds of research design, data collection, analysis, and reporting initiatives throughout the university and beyond. 
 

IRAP Goals

The Office of Institutional Research, Assessment & Planning has elected to focus on the following goals for its development and assessment processes in the next two academic years:
  1. Support effective data collection, including comprehensive WASC reaffirmation data.
  2. Assist with systematizing and optimizing institutional effectiveness of retention and persistence initiatives.
  3. Act in an information support capacity for Strategic and Operational Planning.
  4. Continue to serve on and attend university committee meetings as time allows, for awareness of effectiveness needs within the university.
  5. Advocate for tools and infrastructure to facilitate better data access and data-informed decision processes.
  6. Participate in national, state, or association activities as resources allow, to maintain currency on best practices.
